Short Biography

Franjo Ivankovic, PhD is a research fellow at the Program in Brain Health at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, and the Analytic and Translational Genetics Unit at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. Franjo completed B.S. in integrative biology, B.A. in anthropology, certificate in medical anthropology, and Ph.D. in genetics and genomics at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. Franjo’s primary area of research is psychiatric genomics, with a focus on genomic underpinnings of obsessive-compulsive, eating, and related psychopathology. Franjo also engages with philosophical issues in psychiatry, especially the questions of nosology and classification of psychopathology. Franjo’s secondary research interests examine research ecosystems and the structural drivers of knowledge generation in academia, particularly within psychiatry and adjacent disciplines.
